“Let’s build the tower again” – Girl aged 2

What our experts think

These colourful stackers were a big hit with our testers and their carers – the textures are great and perfect for little hands and mouths. Sensory play is an important part of early years learning, as it enables baby to begin to interact with and understand the different textures, sounds and colours of the world around them.

We really liked the fact that some of the edges have been left open on the blocks, making them easy to handle for babies.

The children enjoyed fitting the stackers together and pushing them apart, and the size and shape made it easy to do this. This is great for developing hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.

Block play also provides babies with basic logic and problem-solving skills, as they use trial and error to fit different shapes and sizes together. The blocks are constructed from a thick but soft material, which is entirely safe for little ones. Although these are aimed at younger babies and toddlers, they could also be used with older children to practise colour recognition and counting.
