TIG-TAG is a shaped bean bag (soft toy) with an embroidered decal on either side.
TIG-TAG is a version of the traditional game ‘TIG’ or ‘TAG’, in the North children play TIG, while in the South children play TAG. Rather than just ‘tagging’ someone, which is not always fair on the child who perhaps isn’t the fastest runner, the child with the TIG-TAG chases the other children and throws the TIG-TAG at them.
If you get hit with the TIG-TAG, ‘You’re it’ and so the game continues. The game only ends when everybody is too tired to carry on!
What our testers said
“It’s like a frisbee!” – Boy aged 5
“I really like this game, it keeps you fit.” – Girl aged 7
What our experts think
TIG-TAG is great fun and encourages players to be active. The children loved the game and were reluctant to stop playing…even though the adults were exhausted! The children were kept entertained for a long time and only stopped for a break because they were told to!
As well as promoting physical activity, the game was also good for developing hand-eye coordination. It’s also a great game for encouraging collaborative play and for bringing children together – our testers felt that it would be a good game to play in teams.
